Ram (read: Dodge) Truck makes “Über” Luxo Ram

Dodge (sorry, Ram Truck) is introducing a new luxury model to the Ram line, dubbed “Laramie Limited”. Dodge (I meant Ram Truck, I swear) says that it wants to attract more affluent pickup owners using a combination of capability and elegance. Wait a minute, what about the Laramie Longhorn you say? Isn’t that super-luxo on its own? Well in essence, yes, but it isn’t available across the range like the Laramie Limited will be. And if you’re not from Texas, you probably won’t appreciate it anyhow.

I won’t bore you with all the exterior and interior niceties, but basically we are looking at a cleaner exterior look with “under-stated badging”, full array of interior features including nav, rear camera, front vented/heated seats, rear heated seats, power memory adjustable pedals, etc. You also get a double French-stitched full leather centre console lid and armrests! Mon dieu! Interior also receives LED accents alla Ford and, well who are we kidding, everyone.

Like I said earlier, the Limited will be available on more models than the Longhorn including 1500, 2500 HD, and 3500 HD single and dually. The Laramie Limited will set you back an undetermined ? dollars (read: $???) because Chrysler hasn’t released pricing, or at least it wasn’t on the press release. For comparisons sake (of nothing, granted), the Longhorn starts at $51,795 on the 2500 model. Look for a debut in Q2 of this year.
