Ontario BMW dealer abandoned since 1988

I barely remember 1988, after all I was only 6 years old and while I’ve grown wiser older one BMW dealership in Oakville, ON has stood still. The dealership, which went by the name of Citation Motors, closed its doors in 1988 and left the showroom completely intact, cars and all.

Imagine, a brand-new BMW 635csi sitting on the dealer floor for 23 years beside an unmolested E28 BMW 5-Series.

More after the jump.

According to Endras BMW’s blog, which posted the story yesterday, there are rumours that someone in a black E28 checks up on the abandoned dealership once or twice a month. So how much for one of these showroom orphans? According to Endras BMW’s blog the owner of the dealership wanted 75K for the white 635csi that is showcased on the showroom floor.

Read the complete story on the Enrdas BMW website.

The dealership looks to be in very good condition based on the street view photographs on Google Earth. The property owner has even planted flowers and keeps the lawn cut.

From what I've heard, that store never actually opened as a BMW dealer. The German owner got into some sort of disagreement with Germany and they pulled the franchise before it ever opened.
