Keeping the trend: Hyundai's August sales continue to grow

Hyundai Canada is reporting that its August 2010 sales result extends its year over year growth to an astonishing 19 months after posting a 9.5% gain over August 2009 to 11,403 units.

Leading the way for the brand is the Sante Fe model with 2,650 sold last month; but that doesn't tell the whole story. The Sonata (new for 2011) and Tucson marked increases of 164% and 44% respectively demonstrating plenty of excitment within the brand.

"Demand for the all-new Sonata and Tucson remain incredibly high," said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO, Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. "While we've achieved strong sales results with our newest models, we've also seen success with some of our existing nameplates. For example, the Santa Fe is the best-selling import SUV in Canada and remains one of the reasons we've enjoyed balanced sales growth."

Hyundai remains on track for a strong 2010, showing a 16% YTD increase over 2009 for a result of 85,120 vehicles sold so far.

I can see why, I bought two brand new Hyundai’s (Tucson and Accent) within the past year. My payments are less than I was spending on one GM SUV and I have a 5 year warranty. Not only that, I have only taken my Hyundai’s in for regular maintenance. I am very impressed with the reliability!
