Trader Corp. to acquire CanadianDriver.com

Yesterday it was announced that Trader Corp. has acquired the company that operates the popular Canadian automotive website CanadianDriver.com. Trader Corp. owns and operates a variety of print and digital media-based companies but it is best known for AutoTrader.ca.

According to Montreal-based Trader, the acquisition was completed with the aim of improving its ability to give better automotive information to its vertical media-business readers.

Established in 1999 CanadianDriver.com is one of the few Canadian automotive websites. However, it must be said that lately teh site has been looking tired. No doubt Trader Corp. will take care of that.

Trader president Doug Clarke said the acquisition will enable the company to provide Canadians with a valuable resource to research their automotive purchases. "This acquisition will enable us to provide Canadians with a valuable resource to research their automotive purchases. It will also help us grow our content and audience as well as provide new advertising opportunities for our national advertisers," he added.
