Not just another list: The 10 damn near perfect cars of all time

Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Another "Best Ever" list. I'm sure many of you can even guess some of the cars on the list. Let's see, Chevrolet Corvette, BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz 300SL, Ferrari Enzo, McLaren F1, AC Shelby Cobra, and the lust list goes on.

Wired Magazine has put together a list of "The 10 Damn Near Perfect Cars." You won't find the typical cars on this list (okay, not as many of them).

What do I mean by that? When was the last time you saw a GM EV1 on such a list? Yeah, these aren't your typical car guys.

Check out the complete list after the jump.

Okay, the list does have some expected players, such as the Ferrari GTO, Porsche 911 and Ford Mustang. But even more are missing, such as Lamborghini Miura, McLaren F1, Lexus LS400 (it scared the hell out of the Germans) and BMW M3, not to mention the Chevrolet Corvette or Dodge Viper.

  • Ferrari 250 GTO (1962 - 1964)
  • Porsche 911 (1963 - Present)
  • Volkswagen Beetle (1938 - 2002)
  • Jeep CJ (1944 - 1986)
  • Ford Mustang (1964 - Present)
  • General Motors EV1 (1996 - 1999) and Toyota RAV4 EV (1997 - 2003)
  • Mercedes-Benz W114/W115 and W123 (1968 - 1985)
  • Toyota Hilux (1968 - present)
  • Mitsubishi EVO (1992 - Present)
  • Honda Accord (1975 - Present)

What would you add to the list?
