Subaru the fastest growing Japanese automaker in Canada last month
Feb 3, 2010
Subaru Canada's hot streak knows no end. After a record year in 2009, Subaru has once again broken another monthly sales record and became the fastest growing Japanese automaker in this country. Last month Subaru Canada sold 1,729 units, an increase of 45.8% compared to January 2009.
January was a record month for Forester and Outback models: Forester sales were up 26.8 percent, and sales of the all-new Outback rose by 382.9 percent as compared to the same month last year.
"Subaru's sales momentum is continuing to build in 2010 due to the quality, durability and reliability of our vehicles," said Katsuhiro Yokoyama, president and CEO of SCI. "Subaru was recently named the top mainstream brand in ALG's (Automotive Lease Guide) Canadian Residual Value Awards, and we're also the only manufacturer with 2010 IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) Top Safety Picks for every model. These important honours serve to reinforce consumer confidence in our award-winning lineup of vehicles."
