Hyundai Equus to start "around $65,000" in Canada
Oct 14, 2010
Chad Heard of Hyundai Canada confirmed that the Hyundai Equus will start “around $65,000” in Canada, although he admitted that Hyundai is still finalizing pricing.
Hyundai is pitching the Equus as a Lexus LS 460 competitor at a GS 460 price. They're only expecting to sell about 100 of them in Canada through fewer than 30 Hyundai dealers across the country.
More after the jump.
Two models of Hyundai's new flagship will be offered in Canada, the Signature and the Ultimate (someone's been reading Lincoln Town Car brochures).
Amongst other goodies, the Ultimate will include power reclining seats in the rear, which include heating, cooling and massaging functionality (palm leaves and grapes not included).
The Ultimate package will push the Equus into the $70,000 range, a tidy sum but far off Germany's finest.
Will the Equus be worth $30,000 more than the Genesis sedan? The massaging rear seats are a start.

Never thought I'd ask that question.
I think the Genesis is radical enough.
