Chrysler resumes production in Windsor, local strippers rejoice!

3,500 employees at Chrysler's minivan assembly facility in Windsor, ON are back on the job today after a two-month shutdown following Chrysler's entrance into bankruptcy.

But it's not just Chrysler workers that are happy. Local businesses, from restaurants to strip joints are relieved that workers now have the money to burn.

Don't believe that strip joints have been hit by Chrysler's production shutdown?

Read on.

The Montreal Gazette quoted a stripper from T-Zers, a local strip joint located just minutes from the plant as saying "When the plant was down, it was awful, business fell about 50%." Damn economy!!

For the next two weeks the Windsor plant will pump out 900 minivans a day. A regularly scheduled two-week shutdown will follow (to prep for 2010 models) but in August production will ramp up as the auto maker plans to build right-hand-drive models to be sold in Europe.
