IHeartTheCube.com: Telma's quest to win a Cube
Mar 23, 2009
Telma takes her cut-out Cube for a latte, though she says that her Cube wasn't too thirsty that day.Last week, when we initially posted the story about Nissan's social experiment to give away 50 Nissan Cubes, my interest was peeked and I decided to enter AutoNorth in the running. Little did I know that there are some really creative people also vying for the chance to get their's too. Telma Costa is one of those people. I got the chance to talk with her about her interests, her website, and her obsession with this square, yet curvy, econobox.
In the spirit of this social experiment, we conducted our chat on twitter. If you would like to check out the conversation in all its glory, search for the #telmaonautonorth hashtag on twitter.
Mark: Hi Telma, how are you today?
Telma: I'm awesome! How are you?
M: I am great! Sunny day, it's Sunday, and we are talking Hypercubism. So, where are you from?
T: I'm from Portugual originally, but now a proud Torontonian.
M: What brought you to Canada?
T: My parents. I was only 2 at the time. I'm grateful they did!
M: We are too! How did you first hear about the Hypercube experiment and what drove you to create IHeartTheCube.com?
T: I found out on twitter. As soon as I saw that I could win my dream car I decided to create a blog. I was in the process of making my own personal blog. So I set that aside for this. I love blogging.
M: Do you do any other blogging or creative work that has helped you in your quest?
T: I do! Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/iheartthecube) & Facebook (IHeartTheCube Fan Page) with more to come! The point is to get the word out there, so I'm doing everything I can to do so.
M: Is there anything you can tell us about your future plans for IHeartTheCube.com?
T: If I am lucky enough to win one, I will keep it up until it decides to no longer run :) I'm also in the process of creating a new page, So I can highlight all the peep that LOVE the cube!
M: If you had to pick one other person who has stuck out in this competition (present company excluded), who would it be?
T: Oh, that's a tough one. There are a lot of really cool people involved in this. Hmmmm, I would have to say @brittanyps, @capsulecom, @Franciscochu, @mindzai, @becircle, and @Eckstatic have all stuck out to me. Lots of cool people doing this.
M: Definitely lots of talent listed here! Lastly, what is the first thing you will do if you get a Cube?
T: I would jump around with joy, start making my cube playlist on my iPod, then cruise for hours on end. Of course, I would video tape the whole thing and put it on Youtube. BUT, the absolute first thing would be to announce it on twitter!
M: You and I both! Thanks for your time and good luck in the competition! We will definitely have to do a Cube Meet!
T: Thank you! I will officialy start the official Ontario Cube Club if I win!
