First regular production 2010 Chevrolet Camaros roll out of Oshawa

After building an initial batch of pre-production Camaros for evaluation, PR and display, regular production units finally started rolling off the assembly line in Oshawa, ON this week.

Much of the focus lately has been on GM's uphill battle to stem red ink so it's important for General Motors to show it's moving forward with highly anticipated vehicles, such as the Camaro.

Ed Peper, GM North America Vice President, wrote on GM's Fastlane blog "All in, the 2010 Camaro is a budget-friendly sports car that offers great fuel economy without sacrificing performance. It’s already a movie star and it’s also the newest showroom star at Chevrolet, which is GM’s foundational brand."

According to GM 14,000 Camaros have been pre-ordered so if you want one you may have to wait a bit...but don't worry because GM's cranking these out as fast as possible. For now it's like printing money.

Canadian pricing:
  • Camaro LS: $26,995
  • Camaro 1LT: $27,995
  • Camaro 2LT: $31,595
  • Camaro 1SS: $36,995
  • Camaro 2SS: $40,995
