Nissan to bring Micra back to Canada?

Nissan's Micra hatchback use to be a subcompact staple in North America, but the question remains whether or not Nissan will bring the Micra back to Canada.

Canadians certainly love their hatchbacks and currently the Versa hatchback and sedan fill the lowest entry role for the Japanese automaker. They offer great value due to their larger compact size and friendly price point.

Yet it may be advantageous for Nissan to offer a smaller car that's less expensive to produce and doesn't rub shoulders too closely with the Sentra. Something like the new Micra sketch shown above would certainly be sportier and more appealing to a broader range of potential customers than the somewhat conservative Versa.

The car shown in these renderings is supposed to closely resemble the next generation Micra and according to Nissan, will start selling in Thailand in March of 2010, and then go on sale in over 150 countries worldwide.
