Chrysler pulls the plug on re-badged Dodge Journey in favour of a small car

DodgeJourney.jpgWhen money is tight you’ve got to make some tough decisions. Chrysler LLC has decided to stop development of a Chrysler version of the Dodge Journey crossover instead opting to invest the money in a small car partnership with Nissan. Smart move.

For far too long domestic automakers have badge-engineered their vehicles. And since Chrysler is working hard to combine dealers into multi-brand outlets what’s the point of having the same vehicle with different emblems on the front?

Chrysler's long-term plan is to have Dodge dealers selling trucks and SUVs and Chrysler dealers selling cars. This decision moves the company closer to that goal.
