Ford loses #2 spot

FordLogo3.jpgThere has been an upset to the natural order in the automotive world. Ford Motor Co. and Ford Motor Co. of Canada Ltd. fell out of second place in the U.S. and Canadian markets last year. I

t's the first time since the 1960s that Ford has been anything less than No. 2 in Canada and the first time since 1931 that it has fallen to third spot in the U.S. market.

Chrysler Canada Inc. bested Ford in the Canadian market, while Toyota Motor Corp. jumped into second spot in the United States. General Motors Corp. retained its sales crown in both countries.

For a list of specific sales numbers, check out the December auto sales report.
