Other Canadian automotive blogs come and go but nobody delivers the goods day in and day out like AutoNorth.ca

What other Canadian blog covers the auto industry like we do?

Since 2006 we've been covering the auto industry for the most relevant news to Canadian auto enthusiasts. We're independent, we're Canadian and with thousands of stories (about 5,000 last time I checked) we're serious about what we do. Nobody is driven by passion like we are.

So who are we?

There are car guys and then there are car guys. I'm a car guy. If you're on this website I'm going to assume you are too (unless you're a woman at which point you're a car gal). It's pretty simple for me really, there are no boring cars. That's what drives me. And that's what drives AutoNorth.ca.

Karen McGinnis

I may be the only woman on AutoNorth.ca but I can hold my own against these guys. I've spent more than my fair share of time at auto shows, race tracks, auto plants and dealer lots. But the highlight would be lapping the Nürburgring.

I'm an unabashed wagon-lover. There, I said it. Maybe it's because my 'first car' when I started driving was my mom's 1993 Ford Taurus wagon. Not very inspiring, but it moved me and my friends; it was known as the 'Chuckwagon' and it left me with many fond memories. I'm also 'one of those people' that still think that the best way to enjoy a vehicle is with a manual transmission.

I don't have a history growing up with car-lovers, so I'm not much for classic cars, other than obvious appreciation. I'm also not much of a greasy gearhead, I'm just the type of guy that will spend hours scouring the internets for information on anything and everything new. So that's me, I'm the new car guy.

I'm sort of an 'I've been everywhere' guy; born in Manitoba, I've lived in Alberta, Texas and South America for bits of my life before settling in Ontario. Currently I am studying 'Automotive Marketing' at the Canadian Automotive Institute in Barrie, Ontario and getting to know the Canadian automotive industry and it's main players. I love cars which is why I'm here, I love to know about everything new that is happening out there, and I am honored to be able to share that info with you.

Like many people on this site I love cars and the Canadian automotive industry. Since I was in grade 3 my parents always took me to the Georgian College Auto Show every September to view the new models. My passion for cars really took flight when I was in grade 7 when my parents were shopping for new minivans. I researched every minivan on sale in the Canadian market and made suggestions on what to purchase. They ended up purchasing a 1999 Toyota Sienna.

I have lived in small town just outside of Barrie, ON all my life. I'm a recent graduate of the Business Administration Automotive Management program at the Canadian Automotive Institute. This industry is always changing and constantly evolving, which is why I love following and being part of the Canadian automotive scene.
